How can I pay the insurance premium? (via SEPA direct debit, bank transfer, standing order, in cash)

You have a total of six options for paying your insurance premium:

  • SEPA direct debit mandate:
The easiest way is to issue a SEPA direct debit mandate. Unfortunately, this is only possible with a current checking account but not with a savings account. To debit your current account, we only need your bank details. When issuing a SEPA direct debit mandate, please ensure that your account always has sufficient funds, i.e. that there are enough funds in your account to avoid a chargeback.
  • Standing order:
You can also set up a standing order with your bank. You must inform your bank how much is to be transferred, when and to whom. (You will receive information on this from our invoice or from the policy!)
  • Bank transfer:
Furthermore you have the possibility to pay the premium via bank transfer. The problem with this method of payment is that the premium has to be paid every month, and you have to transfer the premium on your own. Please note that in the case of "non-payment of the premium" there is no insurance coverage if the policyholder is responsible for the non-payment. This can lead to loss of the residency permit for insured persons from countries requiring a visa. To prevent these problems from happening, grant us a SEPA direct debit mandate or set up a standing order with your bank. Your advisor at the bank will be happy to help you with this.
  • Cash deposit:
The last option for paying your insurance premium is cash deposit. If you do not have a current checking account, you can make a cash deposit at a bank or Postbank by quoting the policy number in the "reason for payment" section of the remittance slip. The cash deposit is subject to additional costs, however, which range from EUR 5 to EUR 10.
  • Credit card payment:
In many plans, the insurance premium can be paid in a lump sum amount by credit card. The credit card payment is processed for us by PayPal.
Along with your payment there is a processing fee of 4% of the insurance premium or at least EUR 3.00. The premium charged to your PayPal or credit card account will be collected for the entire period of coverage. Your PayPal or credit card details will be requested once you have sent us the application.
  • PayPal account:
In many plans you can pay the insurance premium in a lump sum amount with your PayPal account.
Along with your payment there is a processing fee of 4% of the insurance premium or at least EUR 3.00. The premium charged to your PayPal or credit card account will be collected for the entire period of coverage. Your PayPal or credit card details will be requested once you have sent us the application.

Please make sure to include your policy number with every payment!

When is the premium payement due?

In order to receive insurance coverage, the premium must be paid. This is because we are only obliged to provide benefits or reimbursements if the premiums have been received on time. Punctuality means before the start of the period of coverage to which the payment relates.

In the case of new applications (first premium payments) the insurance premium must be paid immediately before the commencement of coverage.
For existing policies (subsequent premiums), the insurance premium is to be paid by the 14th day (payment receipt received by us).

When does Care Concept AG collect the premium payments?

The premiums payments are usually collected up to one week after the start of your coverage. You will receive notification (pre-notification) a few days before collection. The account holder should ensure that there is sufficient money in the account.

I have received a second payment reminder (for a subsequent premium). What does this mean for me?

After receiving the second payment reminder, you have 31 days to reactivate the policy. This means that, within this period, you have the opportunity to continue the contractual relationship by paying the outstanding premium.
If no payment has been received during the 31-day period, you may lose your residency permit due to lack of insurance coverage for stays requiring a visa.

What are the requirements for a premium refund?

Premium payments can always be refunded if proof (i.e. rejection letter from embassies and authorities, insurance certificates from other insurers, flight tickets, proof of course cancellation or a doctor's note) can be presented in writing.
For refunds of EUR 600 or more, all documents must be submitted in their original form!Premium payments can only be refunded without proof if Care Concept AG is informed in writing within 14 days of commencement of coverage that the insured person has not entered the country.
